It is our mission to promote the culinary profession and make a positive impact for culinarians through education and certification; while creating a fraternal bond of respect and integrity among culinarians in Texas.
The Texas Chefs Association (TCA) is a chapter of the American Culinary Federation. The TCA is comprised of 14 dynamic chapters operating in cities across Texas. Our association provides members with timely seminars, networking tools, and professional advancement opportunities to help them further their goals within the food service industry.

Chef John is a Culinary graduate from St Phillips College, where he is a professor.
The first college in the state of Texas to be recognized and certified from the ACF - American Culinary Federation. Chef John had a vision to bring his talents and great food to the public's eye.

Kris Cyprian, a motorcycle-riding executive chef, is a hero to all hungry Canyon guests each summer. Born in Sacramento, Kris earned his B.S. in Culinary Management from The Art Institute of Houston and an MBA with a Finance focus from Ashford University. His culinary career began at the Houston Country Club, later taking him into professional sports, where he cooked for the Houston Astros, Rockets, and Dynamo.
His journey included a year in Germany and roles with Texas State University and the LSU Club, serving notable figures like Shaquille O’Neal and Governor Jon Bel Edwards. A Certified Executive Chef and active member of the American Culinary Federation, Kris is now working toward the elite Certified Master Chef designation.
Off-duty, he enjoys riding his Harley and giving back through the San Antonio Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club.
